Sands Suites Resort & Spa
About…
Discover your next luxury holiday at the southernmost tip of Flic en Flac beach, on Mauritius's sunny west coast - Sands Suites Resort & Spa sits in a heavenly backdrop along a turquoise lagoon, where a private beach of silver sand and the chance of dolphin sightings greet guests each morning. The cinematic setting has a silhouette of the renowned Le Morne Mountain, which rises above the swimming pool, framing every moment of your stay in natural splendour.
A Mauritian family-owned resort and a proud member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Sands Suites Resort & Spa combines authentic hospitality with world-class standards.
This intimate all-suite resort offers 91 elegantly appointed suites across three floors, each with a sea-facing balcony or terrace. Interiors are crafted for those who appreciate the finer details; individual air conditioning, Nespresso machines, Bose sound systems, walk-in wardrobes and bathrooms with separate bath, shower and double sinks ensure that every comfort is anticipated. The most coveted accommodations, the Exclusive Suites, offer two bedrooms, a separate living space and two private balconies commanding magnificent views over the Indian Ocean, delivering an experience closer to a private luxury apartment than a conventional hotel room.
Dining at Sands Suites Resort & Spa is an experience in its own right! Guests can relish the smoky flavours of the beachfront grill at Pink Peppercorn, journey through the rich tapestry of Indian aromas at Spices, enjoy convivial drinks at the Dolphin Bar, or enjoy a sweeping selection of international cuisine at Tamarind Terrace.
For those who wish to venture further, the gastronomic ‘Dine Around’ concept extends to the neighbouring Maradiva Villas Resort & Spa, Sands' celebrated sister property, granting access to an expanded collection of exceptional dining experiences including; Cassine (all-day dining and fine dining), Cilantro (Indian cuisine), Haiku (Japanese Teppanyaki and Washoku), Beachhouse Grill, and the exclusive Chef’s Table experience. Guests can also enjoy two bars, as well as unique signature dining settings such as the jetty and the Raj Tent.
For more intimate occasions, romantic gazebo dining and private beach dining experiences can also be arranged.
The water sports offering is extensive and largely complimentary, encompassing water-skiing, sailing, snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing, Stand-up Paddleboarding, Pedaloes and glass-bottom boat tours. For those seeking deeper adventure, a PADI diving centre, dolphin boat trips, sunset cruises and big-game fishing can all be arranged. On land, two floodlit tennis courts, a fitness centre, table tennis, complimentary yoga and sunrise meditation classes keep guests as active, or as peacefully still, as they choose. Golfers will appreciate access to the 18-hole Tamarina Golf Course, just 20 minutes away.
Wellness is equally considered. The SandSpa offers indulgent body scrubs, hot stone massages and beauty treatments, while a sauna, whirlpool and hammam provide further sanctuary.
Evenings come alive with live Mauritian music, Sega cultural shows and performances from local bands at the Dolphin Bar.
(Tailor-made weddings and honeymoon arrangements are also available, offering personalised celebrations in a beachfront setting. Feel free to make your Enquiry today!)
Key Sustainable Features…
Green Globe certified and committed to sustainability!
Sands pairs its luxury credentials with genuine environmental conscience, making it the ideal retreat for the discerning traveller who wants their indulgence to mean something. The resort's journey towards sustainability began in 2020, culminating in the achievement of Green Globe Certification; one of the most rigorous and internationally recognised standards in sustainable tourism.
Guided by the principle of the five R's: Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose and Recycle - the resort's Sustainability Management Plan touches every corner of the operation. Single-use plastic bottles have been eliminated entirely, replaced with plant-based Be Eau packaging that uses up to 80% less carbon in production. For guests who prefer glass, an on-site water bottling plant in collaboration with Vivreau means glass bottles are reused repeatedly, eliminating the carbon footprint associated with manufacture, transport and disposal.
Food waste is managed with equal care. Kitchen organics including fruit and vegetable peelings, coffee grounds and garden material are composted to enrich the resort's gardens, while used cooking oil is collected for conversion into second-generation biofuel. Even worn linen and towels find a second life, as stained linens are repurposed into laundry bags by an in-house tailor, while bath towels are cut and resewn into smaller face and hand towels, with any remaining fabric shredded for use as mop heads.
The resort also uses biodegradable products throughout its suites and restaurants, prioritises locally sourced fresh produce, and has moved to paperless check-in and QR code menus to minimise its paper footprint. Beyond the property itself, Sands works with Caritas Mauritius, donating retired linens and uniforms to support people in need within the local community.

Of all the memorable experiences that Sands Suites Resort & Spa has to offer, few rival an evening at Pink Peppercorn! This intimate beachfront restaurant has been elegantly placed beneath two Coqueluche trees and alongside the pink peppercorn tree from which it takes its name.
Your table is perched with the golden sand at your feet and the Indian Ocean stretching out before you, while freshly caught fish is lightly grilled and a bottle of chilled Champagne awaits. With just 40 covers, the restaurant's intimate scale ensures an experience that feels genuinely exclusive, far removed from the bustle of larger resort dining.
Pink Peppercorn is open for lunch daily and for dinner twice a week, with a menu celebrating fresh fish and locally inspired seafood dishes. As the sun dips behind Le Morne Mountain and the Indian Ocean turns to fire, intimate seafood dinners are served under subtle lanterns; making this a natural choice for honeymooners, anniversary celebrations, or simply anyone who believes that the finest meals deserve the finest settings.
