A trip to Greece is virtually an excuse to enjoy a Gastronomic Holiday, so let’s not be dis-Crete, the Greeks sure know how to Plato their food!

Esperides Resort have, in their own words, the ‘Ultimate Mediterranean Buffet Experience’. Pretty tantalising stuff, we’re sure you will agree! An original Cretan Tavern incorporates traditional styles of cooking, sourcing fresh & local ingredients that are converted into delicacies, which can be enjoyed from special views overlooking the coast. Cretan hospitality is renowned in the Mediterranean, so make sure to use Esperides’s help in organising curated Food Tours to the nearby villages. This will certainly ensure that guests will have their fill of enticing dishes.

It’s not too late to book your holiday to Crete…remember, Feta late than never!

Map & Location…

With thousands of islands in The Mediterranean, holiday goers are really spoilt for choice. The fifth largest of these islands is Crete and this is home to vestiges of civilizations past, exquisite beaches, God-like mountainous ranges, fertile valleys and steep gorges. It’s popularity stems from all of these environmental characteristics where Apollo and Artemis were considered, together with Zeus, to be the Gods that protected Crete.

Chania and Rethymno are the more renowned towns of Crete, but are both more than 100km from Esperides Resort, so unless you opt for car hire, it may be worth doing some exploring of local towns. Heraklion (pronounced ‘Ira-klion’) for instance is a 30 minute drive from the Resort and has bragging rights for some of the more extraordinary archaeological treasures, ports & coastal settlements, charming villages and immense valleys with olive groves & vineyards. This town is protected by the impressive Mount Ida & Idi and Lasithi Tika Mountains, which are both members of UNESCO's Global Geoparks Network.

Esperides is situated in Koutouloufari where travellers are able to experience monuments, peaceful valleys & groves, bustling markets & Tavernas and traditional hill-top villages amongst cascading waterfalls. Other than enjoying morning hikes and beach days at Hersonissos, we urge guests to discover a traditional shop selling honey, wine and other Cretan delicacies.
