When it comes to booking your travel arrangements, we firmly believe in speaking with you about your ideas. The internet has it benefits and is useful to obtain information but given the sums of money involved in purchasing a holiday, we want to make sure you get your choice right. There are always questions that need answering, so we think it is helpful to have human contact.

We make it our business to not only organise holidays which minimise on negative impact whilst maximising on quality, but to educate our clients as to how they can continue to make a difference in their future adventures. Make Travel Matter promotes travel as a privilege. Our aim is to encourage people to be more aware of their holiday choices and demonstrate how our behaviour, when we travel, can make such a difference to the countries we holiday in.

At travelmatters we deal daily with family holiday requests from family safaris, child friendly soft adventure and short family breaks – we are well versed in the options. We have an extensive network to search through.  Your holiday choices can make a big difference to the people and enviroment you travel to. We are thrilled to have teamed up with tour operators who care about just that.

We are proud to be promoting World Responsible Tourism Day at World Travel Market. We work tirelessly to encourage responsible travel among our clients and with the suppliers we work with. This year we have visited primary schools to encourage the children and help them understand how their actions on holiday can make a difference to the communities they visit.

Make travel matter tree planting scheme

 

As part of our committment of caring for the places you like to visit, we are working with the charity Trees for Cities to plant 100 trees this year. The campaign is part of our Make travel matter campaign. By adding just £4.50 to your holiday invoice, Travel Matters will match the funds to enable you to have a tree planted by the charity.

As part of our commitment to the destinations we promote, Travel Matters has teamed up with TravelPledge, rather than set up our own charity or give back scheme.

Many of our customers want to give and TravelPledge enables you to put something back into the places you visit – contributing to making better places for people to live in and visit.

TravelPledge, in partnership with the travel industry, identifies, defines and screens a wide range of social and environmental projects both overseas and in the UK. It then promotes and facilitates online donations in partnership with the travel industry, allowing tourists to donate to trusted projects thatwill appeal to their own motivations and holiday destinations.

TravelPledge is run independently from Travel Matters – no member of our staff is employed by the charity. We do however make a yearly corporate donation that goes towards the running costs of TravelPledge the charity – this ensures that TravelPledge retains none of your donation meaning more gets to your chosen project.

 

We are proud supporters of the charity Tourism Concern. They work tirelessly to campaign for changes in policy and behaviour, putting money into local pockets and sharing resources fairly. Their campaigns bring the benefits of tourism to local people.

 

 

Education through travel for our children

 

We are delighted to be using our local schools as a platform to promote education through travel to our children . As well as conducting talks on responsible travel within the schools, we have a Give Back Scheme in place with several local schools. Each person booking a holiday with Travel Matters receives £10 per person back to the school PTA funds. If your school has not yet registered with us, do contact us and start reaping the financial benefits for your school.

Caring for our planet

 

We recognize that clients question the amount of travel they undertake for business and leisure purposes and our Make Travel Matter campaign is all about encouraging people to think more about the enviromental and social effects of their travel arrangements.
